In the whirlwind of June, filled with a medley of foundation engagements and personal milestones, the month unfolded with a mix of meaningful experiences. Among them, I delved into the realms of advocacy at the Global Leukodystrophy Initiative Clinical Trials Network (GLIA-CTN) Patient Advocacy Committee Meeting, a testament to our unwavering dedication. Balancing Foundation efforts with personal, we reveled in family joys, marking Father’s Day and our youngest reaching his own milestone of turning a decade old. Noteworthy strides were made as we filed an appeal application to the Combined Federal Campaign, a pivotal step towards garnering support for The LCC Foundation by ensuring governmental employees are eligible to compliantly make donations. Our travels took us on an enjoyable journey, from visiting my sister and her family (including my four nieces and nephew) in Oklahoma to Chicago’s United Leukodystrophy Foundation Conference, where our esteemed leader, Dr. Jamie Fraser, illuminated the scientific community on our cause. The insights gleaned from this gathering now stand as pillars to fuel our mission for the months ahead, resonating with a passion to drive change and uplift those touched by Leukoencephalopathy with Brain Calcifications & Cysts.
